As part of the national effort to boost Wildfire National Preparedness day, Mountains Restoration Trust is holding a one-day community and outreach event to engage the public in environmental post-fire recovery and restoration activities, Postfire Recovery at Headwaters Corner. A main goal of this event is to educate the public on how resource managers restore post fire landscapes and how native plant communities are best suited for creating defensible space and reducing damage caused by wildlife in natural areas adjacent to neighborhoods and developments. This event would engage the watershed-wide community to remove highly- flammable, invasive weeds from post fire recovery areas and conduct maintenance activities for pre-existing plantings.
