Advocacy

MRT advocates on issues related to land preservation. As a member of the Land Trust Alliance we support the topics and concerns that are presented by a community of land trust organizations.  MRT worked to help pass California AB 1011, a statewide effort to catalogue conservation easements. We assisted MRCA’s assessment for open space on the eastern portion of the Santa Monica Mountains. MRT assists with planning of IRWMP- Integrated Regional Water Management Plan, a regional water planning effort and MRT sits on the steering committee for the North Santa Monica Bay . We also worked on the floodplain management plan for the City of Los Angeles. MRT works to create and protect wildlife linkages throughout the Santa Monica Mountains.
