TreePeople Land Trust (TPLT) continually pursues its mission to protect and enhance the natural and cultural resources of the Santa Monica Mountains through community stewardship and science.

To further our mission, TreePeople Land Trust is pleased to offer the Choose a Path, Adopt a Trail program.

Adopting a trail will allow the TreePeople Land Trust to continue its work of fuel modification, trail maintenance, invasive species control, and property monitoring year round.

A sign will be placed on your trail, listing you as the
trail sponsor. Funds are used for spring maintenance, trash cleanup, wildfire mitigation, and immediate drainage work that all visitors notice and appreciate!

This is a multi-year renewable program, with a minimum 2-year commitment.

Your trail will become available to others to preserve at the end of your commitment, should you choose not to renew.

Benefits of Preserving a Trail:

  • Preservation of existing trails and in some cases, construction of new trails
  • Trailhead signage listing your name or your organization’s name as the ‘Sponsor’
  • Website listing and association with the trail system
  • Thousands of smiling and appreciative trail users
  • Adoption funds are 100% tax-deductible (TPLT Tax ID: 95-36774444 )
