Cold Creek Docents Field Trips at Stunt Ranch

For over 30 years the Cold Creek Docents have been leading field programs for public and private schools of the greater Los Angeles Region.  The popular award-winning program is conducted on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am-1pm at the beautiful UCLA Stunt Ranch Reserve in Cold Creek.

The Cold Creek Docents are dedicated to:

  1. Educating the public, particularly school children, about the natural and cultural history of the Cold Creek watershed and its relationship to the Santa Monica Mountains and worldwide ecological principles.
  2. Conducting hands-on programs, including geology, Chumash Indian studies, ethnobotany and chaparral ecology.
  3. Promoting conservation and stewardship of the Cold Creek watershed.

There is a small fee per student for the program.  Programs are adaptable for grades K-12 as well as college.  Teachers will receive an informational packet of preparatory materials for all programs.
